I just love this family! I photographed the little one when he was in his mommy's belly. I can't believe he is already one. He has the greatest big brother and sister too:)

Read MoreTwo YEARS ago I took the photos of the boys on the Trail's End popcorn packages that the Boy Scouts sell and they are finally out!! Last year the production of the new, more environmentally friendly, bags was postponed, but they are here now. They also put my photos on a few boxes. It was a fun project. The ad agency that hired me is in Evansville. They wanted to use a portrait photographer instead of a commercial one because they had trouble in the past getting natural looks from the kids. So they called me....
Read MoreI had the pleasure of photographing an extremely talented ballerina a few weeks ago for the Indianapolis School of Ballet'supcoming ballet, Russian Treasures. If you get a chance to see it, I highly recommend it. All of ISB's ballets that I have seen over the last few years have been top notch. All the information is on the poster.
Read MoreDue to popular request, I am scheduling school picture - "micro" sessions again this March. If you are unhappy with your child's school pictures, this is another option. Micro sessions are 5-10 minutes in length and are meant for ONE child only. You will have 10 - 20 proofs in a password protected gallery from which to choose your favorites. If you would like pictures of multiple children, you may schedule back to back sessions for each child. The sitting fee is only $20 per session and is non-refundable and required in advance to reserve your session. Contact me soon to schedule your school pictures, they book fast.
Read MoreThis is my good friend Erin, her husband, Jason, and their beautiful new baby. This shoot was extra special for me because Erin is not only a close friend, but she is an incredible graphic designer and blogger. She designed my cool logo that I love. Her website is Erin Vale Design if you want to check it out. Our husbands are close too, so it's been entertaining for us to watch Erin and Jason go through a pregnancy and become new parents. Our youngest baby is 7 now, so the memories of what we went through during that time in our lives is still kinda fresh. Right now, Erin and Jason are enjoying the sleepless haze that comes with getting up every few hours to change and feed the baby. And everything about their lives is revolving around this little, tiny human. The next thing they'll know is that little G won't want them to give her a kiss when they drop her off at school. It goes so unbelievably fast.
Read MoreI love newborn shoots. I don't think there is anything more amazing than a newborn. This is how I get my baby fix. My baby is going to be 7 this month and I'm not handling it well. I love watching my kids grow up, but it is so bitter sweet. I just want to soak them in and never forget a moment. I'm going to be a mess when I have an empty nest. Sigh.
Read MoreThis year, Nutcracker pictures will be on November 12. Please be checking your email boxes for picture information that will be coming from Lori. All communication from me will be via email from ISB. Here are two samples of what you can expect to see. I take the time to take several pictures and you will have the opportunity to view and choose amongst several poses and expressions.
Read MoreI love watching the dynamics between family members. They are all different. I especially love watching the siblings interact. I often use one sibling as my assistant to get another to laugh. They are all just super cute, like little bear cubs.
Read MoreThis young lady belongs to a good friend from college who drove down from Fort Wayne. I love working with my friends, but they are the most nerve racking for me. Yes, friends and other photographers. I don't want anyone to be disappointed with their pictures. But how awkward of a position would a friend be in if they weren't happy? I don't want to do that to anyone, but I think it would be especially hard for someone I know personally to express themselves if they didn't like the results. So when I post the proofs, I do a little prayer, "Oh gosh, dear lord, I really, really hope they like their pictures." Maybe I shouldn't be publishing my insecurities on the web for the world to read, but these are issues one faces when owning a small business. I know I like to support friends who own businesses. I think this one was a success. We had a nice time and my friend and her family love the results. Yay!!
Read MoreI'm in love with this picture! The wife/mother of these two handsome fellas emailed be about a minute after I had her gallery up because she was over the moon about it. Yes, I'll have to do this pose more often.
Read MoreI tried a few new things with this shoot. I've been feeling like I've been in a creative rut lately, so I pushed myself this time and tried some new poses. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the ultrasound pics. I think I will be doing that again. We also had a lot of fun with the marker pictures at the end. And the kids REALLY had a good time. In my house, the baby always got markered on by a sibling at some point. Hmmm... I'll have to see if I can dig those pictures up.
Read MoreThis was a lot of fun. A shoot on a sailboat. It was new for me, but I'm always up for trying something new. We don't have a lot of water in Indiana, but this is the perfect spot for sailing. The girls were troopers. It ended up being one of the windiest days ever and I even saw a sailboat turn over while photographing my family sailing from the shore. The family I was shooting was experienced and safe though. Great day...
Read MoreI just loooove photographing newborns. The time just goes so so fast when they are little, it always reminds me to stop and kiss my kids, smell their hair, and soak them in. My youngest is six now and it seems so long ago that I had a baby attached to me, while cleaning, cooking, grocery shopping, working on the computer. They were always just right there next to me, or on me. Now they are out in the world, going to school all day. Sigh...
Read MoreOH my gosh! I submitted this photo to the Advertising Photographers Association for a contest called NAKED and my photo is a finalist! There are no winners, just finalists. It will be hung in the Subtext Gallery in San Diego for a show on September 15th, 2011 and will be auctioned off to benefit AjA - Youth + Photography Transformation. I'll be hanging with the big wigs... Not me, just my picture:) This is a lesson for me, as a creative person who's work is personal, it's hard to put yourself out there. Beauty, creativity, art - it's all so subjective. I'm constantly fighting myself to put my work out there in the world more, but it's sooo scary. It's not that I'm hiding under a rock here, but this has given me a little dose of confidence to take another step. World, here I come!
Read MoreOkay, I've blogged about this family so many times... It's just that they were one of my first clients and they have been with me for years. And, they are just so cute. This little sweetie looks just like her big sister, so it might seem repetitive, but it's not.
Read MoreWhile getting my kids ready for school I noticed that the ragged bag tags were ready to be replaced. I also decided it was time to update their look, they aren't in preschool anymore:( so I went for a more "sophisticated" look. Feel free to download them yourself. They are blank so you can just write in your child's name or open it in photoshop and use a fun font. You can print out two at home or print them as wallets at your printer. I laminate them back to back in a "luggage tag pouch" from the office supply store.
