Last week I had the amazing opportunity to photograph a ballet LEGEND, Violet Verdy, while she taught a master class at Indianapolis School of Ballet. I was humbled by her presence and beauty. She is so positive and uplifting. You just melt when she smiles at you... When I learned about her life and accomplishments - WOW. Here is her bio from the Jacobs School of Music where she teaches now:

Last year the production of the new, more environmentally friendly, bags was postponed, but they are here now. They also put my photos on a few boxes. It was a fun project. The ad agency that hired me is in Evansville. They wanted to use a portrait photographer instead of a commercial one because they had trouble in the past getting natural looks from the kids. So they called me....
Read MoreOH my gosh! I submitted this photo to the Advertising Photographers Association for a contest called NAKED and my photo is a finalist! There are no winners, just finalists. It will be hung in the Subtext Gallery in San Diego for a show on September 15th, 2011 and will be auctioned off to benefit AjA - Youth + Photography Transformation. I'll be hanging with the big wigs... Not me, just my picture:) This is a lesson for me, as a creative person who's work is personal, it's hard to put yourself out there. Beauty, creativity, art - it's all so subjective. I'm constantly fighting myself to put my work out there in the world more, but it's sooo scary. It's not that I'm hiding under a rock here, but this has given me a little dose of confidence to take another step. World, here I come!

The ladies at Indy's Child were great to work with too. We shot at the IMA which is absolutely gorgeous in the spring. It's one of my favorite places in Indianapolis. The cover is ready to go for the June issue and will be out shortly. I've read Indy's Child for many years and am particularly looking forward to this issue:)
Read MoreThis was a FUN project. Liz Cannon and Caroline Seger came to me a couple of months ago with the idea of photographing the kids in alphabet shapes to create a poster. Some inspiration came from photographer, Adam Bird, and Stepping Stones Montessori. After hearing about thier plans at the BJE for a fundraiser, I wanted to help. It took lots of organization and creativity, but I think the result is amazing. This will be up for auction at the BJE Spring Fling May 15th. It's a dry mounted 24x36.
